Do you do IUI, ICI and IVI at Bloom?

At Bloom, we do Intrauterine Inseminations with frozen washed sperm. We can discuss the logistics and necessary equipment for at home intracervical and intravaginal inseminations, but we usually do not do these procedures. 

What sperm banks do you recommend? 

We like working with Seattle Sperm Bank, Northwest Cryobank, and The Sperm Bank of California. These banks are on the west coast and very reliable. But please shop around--most sperm banks will allow you to view their donors, prices, policies and philosophy on their websites. 

Can one of the providers at Bloom sign the sperm bank physician paperwork? 

Yes, both Dr.Haywood and Dr.O’Neill can sign this paperwork, after an initial visit with you to discuss your plans and overall health. 

Can sperm be delivered to Bloom directly?

No, but we will happily return your tank after your insemination.

How long does an IUI take?

About 15 minutes. We then have you rest for 15-30 minutes, with the option of acupuncture.

How much does an IUI cost? Can you bill insurance for IUIs?

$300. We do not bill insurance for IUIs. 

Can you bill insurance for pre-conception counseling or a fertility visit? 

If you have fertility coverage, we may be able to bill insurance. We generally do not bill insurance for fertility services, but we will bill your insurance if we are addressing other healthcare concerns. 

Do you wash sperm? 

No, we refer out for this service. 

Do you prescribe fertility medications like Clomid or Letrozole? 

Yes, we do prescribe these medications.

Do you order lab work and imaging for fertility patients?

Yes, and yes. This is a case by case situation, and we will discuss your personal plan during your visit.

Do you recommend tracking my cycle before we start trying? With OPKs? Temperature? Physical signs? 

Yes. There are several ways to track your cycle and get to know your monthly rhythm and signs of fertility. Come on in, and we’ll help you start tracking. If you’ve already been tracking, bring your data/charts in and we’ll help you pinpoint your fertile window. 

Do you work with people undergoing IVF? 

Yes. We can provide support and advice, complementary care including acupuncture, and day of transfer acupuncture. 

Do you require an initial visit before starting IUIs? 

Yes please. It’s important to meet before IUIs, discuss the plan and assess your overall health and fertility. We want to make sure you are heading down the right path and have all of your needs met. 

Do you work with single people? Trans people? Same sex couples?

We work with any person who would like to try to conceive. We provide a safe space for ALL to explore this process. 

Do you remove IUDs?

Yes we do!

I want to have a baby but my cycle is irregular. Can you help me?

Yes, we definitely can help you. We will help you regulate your cycle and optimize your fertility, before you start actively trying to conceive. We use a combination of conventional and holistic treatments, including acupuncture, herbs, vitamins and pharmaceuticals. 

Do you treat pregnant patients as well? 

We do! We can work with you through your whole pregnancy. You will need an OB/GYN or midwife as well, as we don’t do prenatal care or deliver babies.
